The Children's Literature Festival Successfully Concluded in Nuwakot

On September 20 and 21, Room to Read, in collaboration with the Nepalese Society for Children's Literature, hosted the Children's Literature Festival in Nuwakot to commemorate International Literacy Month.

Under its #ForALiterateNepal campaign, the festival aimed to raise awareness about the importance of children's storybooks and increase access to quality reading material to craft and increase the reading habits of children.

The two-day event included panel discussions, a readathon campaign, workshops, and an open library and e-library. Children from all over Nepal attended the event, as did story writers, illustrators, educators, and community stakeholders.

Several children's storybooks were also launched during the festival, including Raju Pandit's Goru Judhai, Shyam Sah's Sama Chakewa, Indra Chaudhary's Naya Banpale, Shanti Sapkota's Chari Ko Nyay, Bimala Niraula's Teen Chari, Mahesh Acharya's Kaltope and Syaltope, and Kabita Rai's Kharani Ko
